We are looking forward to our 12th year of hosting the best performing arts program in Colorado.
RMCT has created an extremely successful and powerful environment in which young actors can flourish in the Rocky Mountain region.  We look forward continuing to inspire the youth of Colorado with our unique brand of performance training.  Camp with RMCT is a brilliant alternative to day care, one-week camps or multi-focus camps without a culmination of experience to celebrate your child's accomplishments, and we also offer a price-effective option for parents who wish to keep their kids local without sacrificing quality of training and exposure to seasoned, professional instructors.  It will be an amazing time full of fun and learning experiences for your kids. Our program is designed to provide youth with a place to nurture their creative instinct and develop a connection to the stage and camera, while being guided by RMCT Founder & Artistic Director Anthony Hubert, along with his exciting, young company of professional actors and directors. Your children will showcase and improve their talents as they enjoy the summer with us.  Kids love our fun & highly-skilled staff!

Rocky Mountain Conservatory Theatre 2018 Classes & Summer Camps will be held at our amazing theatre home, Denver's Historic Grant Avenue! The venue is located at 216 South Grant Street, Denver, CO 80209. This is a vibrant venue for the arts and culture in the heart of Denver. Now designated as a Colorado Historic Landmark, and part of the recently establisted Grant Street Historic District, HGA is home to many invaluable community and nonprofit groups. Our performances will take place on not one but TWO stages, both the Center Stage, a beautiful, historic, and fully-equipped theatre, and the large sanctuary stage with charming and renowned architectural features, both being right there in the church's main space where all programming is held, no need for students to switch venues for show days, and students will spend time working in other classrooms and studio spaces in which camp will take place. HERE is a link to Mapquest showing the distance between your location and the our venue, and HERE is a link to our 'Maps' page. Historic Grant Avenue is located at Grant Street and Cedar Avenue, a few blocks from Alameda & Logan in the Washington Park neighborhood, situated in close vicinity to our original location in the University/DU area, and just blocks from Denver's wonderful Cherry Creek Mall and the Pearl & Gaylord Street Historic Districts. We are very close to I-25 and Santa Fe/US-85, Speer/6th, convenient to many workplaces, schools, residential neighborhoods, shops, restaurants, and parks. We are thrilled to hold annual programming at Historic Grant Avenue, and there are several exciting features that are happy to provide. Ticket prices will be lower than when camp was at the University of Denver. Parking is simple and free (there is street parking on all residential blocks surrounding the venue with street sweeping only once monthly). We will have so many spaces to work in, multiple stages, and a dance studio All other aspects of camp (dates, shows, instruction, etc.) will remain the same as years past. Our instructors are looking forward to our first year at HGA, and to meeting and working with your children this coming summer. We pride ourselves on providing the highest quality theatre arts programming, as well as life building skills that create the long-term healthy relationships that our students have grown accustomed to experiencing. We look forward to creating new memories with new and old students this summer and beyond.

*Rocky Mountain Conservatory Theatre is an exclusively theatrical-based youth arts organization. We are pleased to offer our programming at the wonderful Historic Grant Avenue, Denver; we are not structurally affiliated with any religious organization.

Please refer to the "Parent Page" for Camp Day 1 audition information (HERE). All camp registrants will receive an electronic packet by email in early to mid-May with all of the instructions and camper notices that are on this page, plus further individualized info specific to your student and family. *If your child is unable to attend the first day/s of camp for any reason (school or personal), we can arrange for an alternate audition/meeting with our Instructors/Directors (in-person or by video) and make every effort for them to be cast and involved without disruption to their participation. Students are welcome to come into camp at any hour of the day or stay during PM extended hours so that they can be as involved as possible until school commitments are over and so that starting 1-4 days late will not affect their casting, equality, or experience at all. Our Directors will spend extra one-on-one time with any absent student to ensure that they can have the most positive, fufilled, and valuable camp experience possible. If your student is missing even an entire week, we can work with them to make the camp experience in production work. If you are missing more days than you are able to afford in terms of tuition per camp day, please conatct us to discuss a reasonable pro-rated tuition amount. You can call or email us to enroll if you have very specific questions. We're happy to explain how we have worked with students who anticipated significant conflicts of time during summer camp before, and since it happens many, many times a year, we are very familiar with making things work for all interested families.

We have no problems - Only solutions!

            CAMP SCHEDULE
Campers will do everything that it takes to put on a show. The day is divided into several class blocks with rotating activities including: Acting, Music/Voice, Dance, Art, and Rehearsal. Group warm-ups and closings with the entire camp will take place at the beginning and end of each day. Additionally, Theatre Games and Improv, as well as Specialty classes and Workshops round out the fun. Summer Camp 2018 with RMCT will be filled with dynamic theatre experiences.  Each student will participate in not one, but THREE performances of their production at the end of the session, which in addition to being the best and most fun part of camp, truly helps them expand on their self-confidence, conviction, and understanding of performing in front of an audience through repetition.  At the end of three weeks, audiences will be delighted with the productions that the students put on.

(AGES 5-8)    BEAUTY & THE BEAST - Based on the original Broadway production that ran for over thirteen years and was nominated for nine Tony Awards, and the Academy Award-winning motion picture, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast is a fantastic adaptation of the story of transformation and tolerance.  Disney’s Beauty and the Beast features some of the most popular songs ever written by Alan Menken and the late Howard Ashman, along with new songs by Mr. Menken and Tim Rice.

The classic story tells of Belle, a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast, who is really a young prince trapped under the spell of an enchantress. If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end and he will be transformed to his former self. But time is running out. If the Beast does not learn his lesson soon, he and his household will be doomed for all eternity.  This "tale as old as time" is filled with spectacular magic.

(AGES 9-12)  JAMES & THE GIANT PEACH -  Based on one of Roald Dahl’s most poignantly quirky stories, Roald Dahl's James and the Giant Peach is a brand new take on this "masterpeach" of a tale.  Featuring a wickedly tuneful score and a witty and charming book, this adventurous musical about courage and self-discovery is destined to be a classic.

When James is sent by his conniving aunts to chop down their old fruit tree, he discovers a magic potion that grows a tremendous peach, rolls into the ocean and launches a journey of enormous proportions. James befriends a collection of singing insects that ride the giant piece of fruit across the ocean, facing hunger, sharks and plenty of disagreements along the way.

The possibilities for creative costuming and puppetry abound, and young actors will love playing the outlandish and larger-than-life human and insect characters.

(AGES 13-18)  URINETOWN  Winner of three Tony Awards, three Outer Critics Circle Awards, two Lucille Lortel Awards and two Obie Awards, Urinetown is an hilarious musical satire of the legal system, capitalism, social irresponsibility, populism, bureaucracy, corporate mismanagement, municipal politics and musical theatre itself! Hilariously funny and touchingly honest, Urinetown provides a fresh perspective on one of America's greatest art forms.

In a Gotham-like city, a terrible water shortage, caused by a 20-year drought, has led to a government-enforced ban on private toilets. The citizens must use public amenities, regulated by a single malevolent company that profits by charging admission for one of humanity's most basic needs. Amid the people, a hero decides that he's had enough and plans a revolution to lead them all to freedom!

(AGES 5-8)  FLAT STANLEY - The beloved children's book written by Jeff Brown is a literary and pop cultural phenomenon, delighting readers all around the world. And now, everyone's favorite two-dimensional hero has a new life in The Musical Adventures Of Flat Stanley. Filled with infectious songs and non-stop adventure, Flat Stanley JR. is a perfect show to introduce young performers to the magic of live theatre.

Stanley Lambchop is your ordinary, everyday ten-year-old until the bulletin board on the wall above his bed comes loose and falls right on top of him. The next morning, Stanley wakes up flat. In a whirlwind musical travelogue, Stanley – the ultimate exchange student – scours the globe for a solution to his unusual problem. He's stamped, posted and cancelled from Hollywood and France to Honolulu and beyond, all in an effort to become a three-dimensional boy once more.

Stanley’s journey takes him all across the globe, to many interesting locales, filled with lots of colorful characters, and worldly opportunities.

(AGES 9-12)  DOCTOR DOLITTLE  - The classic tale of kindness to animals trots, crawls and flies onto the stage in Doctor Dolittle. All of the characters we've come to love through the stories of Hugh Lofting and the magical movie musical are given new life in the stage version.

The musical tells the classic tale of a wacky, but kind, doctor who can talk to animals, taking the audience on a journey from the small English village of Puddleby-on-the-Marsh to the far corners of the world. When Doctor Dolittle attempts to help a seal named Sophie, he’s wrongly accused of murder and stands trial before General Bellowes. Once pronounced innocent, Dolittle is free to continue with his search for the Great Pink Sea Snail – the oldest and wisest of the creatures on earth.

(AGES 13-18)   LEGALLY BLONDE - Based on the award-winning Broadway musical and the smash hit motion picture, Legally Blonde, The Musical is a fabulously fun journey of self-empowerment and expanding horizons. The show's instantly recognizable songs are filled with humor, wit and sass – leaving cast members and audiences alike seeing pink!

Legally Blonde follows the transformation of Elle Woods as she tackles stereotypes, snobbery and scandal in pursuit of her dreams. When Elle's high school boyfriend, Warner, dumps her and heads to Harvard, claiming she's not "serious" enough, Elle takes matters into her own hands, crafting a showy song-and-dance personal essay and charming her way into law school. Befriending classmate, Emmett, and spunky hairdresser, Paulette, along the way, Elle finds that books and looks aren't mutually exclusive.  As Elle begins outsmarting her peers, she realizes that law may be her natural calling after all.
